About this skill

This skill teaches a method learned from studying exploded 3D sites, such as the robotic hand posted on X. The parts live in a table with an assembly order, each pose is computed from time alone, and the studio light is built in code. A working template shows all of it: an invented pocket astrolabe with 1,322 parts.

You say

Use exploded-3d-story to turn my mechanical keyboard into a scroll-driven site that comes apart switch by switch, with labels, and render a 12-second video of it.

How it works

  1. Your agent writes the object as a table: one row per part, with its place in the assembly order and where it goes when free.
  2. A pure function turns time into each part's position, so a scroll position and a film clock drive the same story.
  3. Headless Chrome seeks each frame, averages many samples for depth of field and motion blur, and pipes the result to ffmpeg.

Getting a good result

  • Name real parts and what they do. Specific parts give a better result than a high part count.
  • If a flat face flashes white, find what it mirrors and move that light. Metal shows the room, so the room is the lighting design.
  • Check how each part really goes in. A model can make a machine look right and still bring its screws in from the wrong side.

What you get

  • A SKILL.md with the full method and a checks list
  • A template you can run: the scroll site, the parts table and the capture script
  • What the published workflows really do, with their costs as the authors reported them

Good fit

  • Product pages for hardware and machines
  • Explainers of how something fits together

Not for

  • Organic shapes such as faces and animals
  • Accurate engineering drawings

How to install it

  1. Download the ZIP and unzip it.
  2. Move the folder holding SKILL.md into your agent's skills folder, such as ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code.
  3. Start a new session and ask for what you want to make.

Needs: An agent that reads skills, such as Claude Code with Opus 5.5, or Kimi K3.1, Node.js, Chrome and ffmpeg, to render the video.

FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes. Create a free AdAnt account to download the ZIP. There is no card and no trial timer.

Does it need Blender or a 3D model?

No. Every part is built by code when the page opens, and the finishes and lighting are computed too.

Which is better for this, Opus 5.5 or Kimi K3.1?

The skill works with both. One author reported Kimi as about 5 times cheaper and 4 times faster on one prompt, which is a single test. Try both on your object.
